Beloved Mother
Beatrice Elaine LaFever, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 12, 2023 with her son, Randy, by her side from failing health issues at Fidler’s Green Manor Nursing Home.

Born February 6, 1944, in Ischua, she was the daughter of William B. and Isabella M. Ross Hatch Lockwood.

She was a former student of Franklinville Central School Class of 1962.

Beatrice had a job at Stardell Foods in Franklinville preparing fruits and vegetables for short-term canning and also did short-term baby-sitting in the 1960’s.

On June 4, 1966, in the West Clarksville Baptist Church she married David Robert LaFever, the son of Delbert and Maude (Hewitt) LaFever. He predeceased her on June 8, 1999.

Beatrice enjoyed cooking, baking, sharing recipes, music, dancing, bowling, a clean home, helping those in need if she was able, and family pets.

She is survived by a son, Randy LaFever of Friendship; a bother, John Hatch of Franklinville; two sisters, Sandra Dahlgren and Ruby Wittenrich both of Wilmington, NC; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a sister-in-law, Clasa Brundage of Angelica.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 10-11:00 A.M. at which time funeral services will be held. Pastor Becky Worth, will officiate.
