Barbara A. Bartlett, 81, of 6871 County Road 20, Friendship, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Absolut at Salamanca following a brief illness.

Born on August 24, 1936, in Genesee, Pa she was a daughter of Richard and Mildred Bartlett.

Barbara was a loving mother and homemaker her entire life and was proud to have survived raising seven children. In 1979, she achieved her GED, the same year one of her sons graduated.

She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and served as camp director for four years. She had worked many hours starting her own business, making tents, which received approval by the Seneca Nation Council.

Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and cooking. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom will miss her dearly. She also enjoyed collecting teapots, kaleidoscopes, and various rocks from around the world. She will be remembered as a very strong, independent, and out going person.

She is survived by her children, Lois Brandes of Great Valley, Karen (David) Cummings of Enterprise, Alabama, Douglas Weatherell Jr. of Friendship, Steven Weatherell of Friendship, Alice (Matthew) Geisel of Friendship, Brian (Christine Gavitt) Weatherell of Harrisburg, Missouri, and Janis Dailey of Friendship; her grandchildren, Dejay Hughes, John Lee Brandes, Chandra Weatherell, Jena and Jaimee Kasprowicz; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Bartlett of Wellsville, Ronald (Lori) Bartlett Sr. of Marion, SC and Raymond (Shirley) Bartlett of St. Catharines Ontario, Canada; a sister, Millie Hannigan of Wellsville; and several nieces and nephews.
